Covers chapter 19:1-10. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Finally we have come to the part of Revelation where we can breath a deep sigh of relief... all the judgements upon the earth are finished and the remaining chapters primarily focus upon what is taking place in heaven. This chapter opens a window to what will be taking place up there - there will be worship, there will be worshipers, and there will be a wedding.
The emphasis of this message shows us that this wedding is no ordinary marriage ceremony... but rather where Christ (the bridegroom) will be presented with his bride (the church). This is seen through the customary tradition of the Jewish wedding which is opened up in this message by Ps. Johnny - it consists of three parts: the engagement, the betrothal, the ceremony. The message shows us how the church of Jesus Christ is as an engaged bride, currently in a betrothal period, waiting for the arrival of her groom who will sweep her of her feet into glory and there the wedding of all weddings will take place. Some deep lessons are learnt from this amazing scripture about worship, about why we worship, and then more poignantly, what exactly is happening right now while we are waiting for the arrival of the bridegroom.
